Children’s Shows
Music for Young Listeners
Sharing music with a child is one of the easiest and most impactful ways of connecting with them. Creating a space for a child to engage with music and to learn about all types of music is something Ensemble Affect holds very dear.
We engage young listeners in almost every program we perform. School visits and interactive performances for assemblies teach students about the historical context behind the music they already learn in school, and also provide an introduction to historical performance and its ability to engage with emotion and expression without words. These performances can be held in an intimate classroom setting, or for groups as large as 250 children of all ages.
EA frequently encourages children to take part in our performances outside of the classroom. We have featured art works created by kids for a specific concert, asked children to read poetry they composed, and featured young performers read testimonies and history concurrent with the time period of the music in concerts.
Our children’s shows are another big hit for kids and parents alike, and can act as a companion to an existing traditional performance, or as a standalone event. They are designed to provide a fun, interactive show that exposes children to classical music, history, and concert experience.
