Pauline Kempf ~ Artistic Director & Violin
Meet Pauline
Pauline Kempf was first initiated to the baroque violin and its repertoire by Florence Malgloire while studying in Switzerland. Originally from France, Pauline is based in San Francisco where she studied baroque violin with Elizabeth Blumenstock at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Selected to participate in EMA’s Emerging Artists Showcase during the 2022 BFX in Berkeley, Pauline appeared as a soloist with the Baroque Chamber Orchestra of Colorado and the Oregon Bach Festival Orchestra. A co-founder of Ensemble Affect, she regularly performs with the Haymarket Opera Company, the California Bach Society, Cantata Collective, Nash Baroque and the American Bach Soloists.
Pauline holds musical degrees from the Music Universities of Geneva and Vienna and received her Doctor of Music degree from Northwestern University. She teaches at the SFCM Pre-College in San Francisco and at the Scherzo Music School in San Mateo.
