Colonial Baroque @ Michigan State

  • Fairchild Theatre 542 Auditorium Road East Lansing, Michigan, 48824 United States (map)

As part of the Taylor Johnston Music Series at Michigan State University, Ensemble Affect performs Colonial Baroque, a program marking the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and exploring music from America’s colonial period. The program highlights works by composers who emigrated from Europe to the American colonies, like Giovanni Gualdo, William Tuckey, and Charles Theodore Pachelbel, alongside music by composers born in the colonies, such as John Antes and John Tufts, all of whom played a pivotal role in shaping the unique musical sound of a young nation.
