The Affect String Quartet makes its debut with an intimate house concert exploring the evolution of the string quartet through a Parisian lens, including its roots in viol consort music of Charpentier, trio sonatas of Jacquet de la Guerre, and the quartets of Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint Georges and Joseph Haydn, who pushed the boundaries of the genre they were spearheading. In addition, a sneak peak into the quartet’s next big endeavor featuring Beethoven’s monumental Op. 130 will end the night.
